Michael Icely debuted for the Aussie Sevens during the Singapore tournament in April 2022. He has also played for the Melbourne Rebels and NSW Waratahs at Super Rugby level, earning a call-up to the Sevens squad for 2023-24 thanks to an impressive Shute Shield season that saw him win the Ken Catchpole Medal. Icely was named as a reserve for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in July.
