Meanwhile, the Men have finished seventh after they defeated France 15-12.

Follow a recap of all the action, game by game below:
Australia Men 17 v Ireland Men 7

Australia are off to a strong start, securing a 17-7 win over Ireland.

In a tense first half, Matt Gonzalez crossed for the opening points and lone score of the half.

It inspired the Aussies as they kicked clear after the break, beginning with Hayden Sargeant.

James Turner added to the lead before Ireland got a late consolation try

Australia Women 42 v Spain Women 0

Australia has eased to a 42-0 win over Spain.

Coach Tim Walsh took the chance to rest Charlotte Caslick as the young guns cruised to victory, led from the front by Isabella Nasser.

Kiiahla Duff got her first World Series try, followed over by Ruby Nicholas for a 28-0 lead at the break.

Faith Nathan’s tries either side of the break put the game well out of reach, with Mackenzie Davis capping off the win with a minute left.

Australia Men 7 v New Zealand Men 17

Australia has been unable to break down New Zealand's defence, going down 17-7.

The Aussies were forced to rally after an early Kiwi try, with Michael Icely the man to hit back before the break.

The New Zealanders restored their lead after the half-time siren, adding to their advantage through Dylan Collier in the second half.

Liam Barry’s side fought for a bonus point but couldn’t find a way through late as they met a black wall.

Australia Women 12 v Brazil Women 14

Brazil have stunned Australia 14-12 to finish day one.

Tim Walsh’s side repelled the early pressure from Brazil as Teagan Levi stepped away for the opener.

Faith Nathan sprinted her away for another try to ensure a 12-0 lead at the break.

However, Brazil continued to press the Australians and eventually crossed for a well deserved try and suddenly had the lead with two minutes to go.

Mackenzie Davis nearly proved the hero before a remarkable try-saving tackle from Thalia Costa sealed the win.

Australia Men 17 v South Africa Men 12

Josh Turner has proved the hero as Australia replicates their Perth efforts with a 17-12 extra-time win over South Africa.

The Australians' spot in the quarter-finals were already sealed after Uruguay's shock win over the USA.

The Blitzboks broke down the Australians as Impi Visser crossed for the opener.

Henry Hutchison responded for the Aussies right before half-time to level the scores.

A yellow card to the South Africans to start the second half opened the space for co-captain Henry Paterson to glide over.

The Australians tried to hold onto the lead, but were stung by a late Blitzboks try.

This presented the opportunity for Turner to step up, with the Aussies flipping the field and allowing the veteran to strike.

Australia Women 35 v Canada 14

Australia have rallied to score 35 unanswered points to record a 35-14 win over Canada.

The Canadians were buoyed on by their home support as they scored twice in the first three minutes.

Tia Hinds steadied the ship for the Perth champions, going herself to score under the posts.

Ruby Nicholas levelled the scores with a great solo burst before Hinds’ second got the Aussies in front.

Faith Nathan pushes the lead outside a converted try, with Kahli Henwood securing the win.

Australia Men 14 v South Africa Men 17

Australia have been unable to replicate their magic from the pool stages, going down 17-14 to South Africa.

The Blitzboks replicated their group stages efforts as Ronald Brown got the opener.

They added to their lead shortly afterwards before striking on the half-time siren for a 17-0 advantage.

A yellow card gave the Aussies a chance to mount the comeback as Ben Dowling dived over for their first points of the game, followed over by Josh Turner.

However, it was too little, too late as the Blitzboks held on.

Australia Women 28 v Great Britain 14

Australia are into the semi-finals after a 28-14 win over GB.

Teagan Levi got the Aussies off to the right start as she sliced through the middle for the opener.

Kahli Henwood extended the lead before half-time, with the Brits hitting back before the siren.

However, the Australians were quick to answer through the combination of Levi and Faith Nathan.

Charlotte Caslick sealed the win with three minutes to go despite a late try to the Brits.

Australia Women 10 v New Zealand Women 29

Australia will battle for bronze after going down 29-10 to New Zealand.

Stacey Waaka got the opener for the Kiwis after nice combination with Jorja Miller, which was answered by Charlotte Caslick.

Michaela Brake got NZ’s lead back to seven points, before Miller extended the lead at half-time.

Faith Nathan gave the Australians hope with a try in the corner with three minutes to go.

In the end, Waaka’s second put the game out of reach before the Kiwis scored another late.

Australia Men 15 v France Men 12

Australia have claimed seventh after a physical 15-12 win over France.

Sid Harvey got Australia off to a fast start, sprinting away for the opener.

Ben Dalton extended the advantage with a great solo try, his first of the World Series, before France got on the board.

James Turner hit straight back for a 15-7 lead at the break.

The second-half was dominated by yellow cards, with three between the two sides, yet the only points came too late for France, allowing the Aussies to hang on.

Australia Women 26 v Japan Women 12

Australia have secured bronze medal with a 26-12 win over Japan.

The Japanese stunned the Aussies with the first try of the game through Hanako Utsumi.

Tia Hinds steadied the Australians with a great show and go to level the scores, with Faith Nathan scoring after the siren for the lead.

Japan kept the game close with a second try, only for Charlotte Caslick to respond to restore the lead.

Hinds’ second sealed the win and third place.
