- #77Position
Wallace Charlie is an emerging star in Australian Rugby, having already made his debut on the international stage aged just 18.
Born on Darnley Island, also known as 'Erub' in Papuan language, Charlie is a proud Torres Strait Islander.
Wallace’s rise from a town, home to less than 5000 people, to the biggest stage of his fledgling career would not have been possible if not for Ipswich Grammar head of rugby, Russell Todd.
Todd stumbled across Charlie when he was 14 at Woree State High and was responsible for arranging a St Peters rugby scholarship for the little livewire commencing in Year 10 back in 2022.
He was then identified by Aussie 7s coach Liam Barry in Auckland during a Global Youth tournament in 2024.
From there he made his Aussie 7s debut as a teenager in Los Angeles, becoming one of the youngest players to ever do so in the Men's space.
