Rugby Australia is delighted to announce the re-signings of Maddison and Teagan Levi through to the end of 2028.
The new deal confirms the Levi sisters will remain with Australian Rugby through the Los Angeles Olympics as the Australian Women’s Sevens team pursues a second Olympic gold medal.
From the Gold Coast, the Levi sisters made their Australian Sevens debuts just over 12 months apart with Maddison Levi first competing at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
Maddison is currently third on the women’s all-time try-scorers list for the HSBC SVNS world series with 221 tries and 1105 points.
The 23-year-old was crowned World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year in 2024, scoring a record 69 tries in a calendar season and an Olympic record 15 tries during the Paris games.
Teagan followed with an Australian debut in 2021 at the Dubai 7s and has become a leader within the national side.
The 22-year-old has played 130 matches across 27 tournaments, scoring 34 tries and kicking 131 goals for 432 points.
Director of High Performance Peter Horne said he was pleased to be able to lock in the Levi sisters to long-term contracts.
“Extending Maddi and Teagan’s contracts through the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 is a positive outcome for Australian Rugby,” Horne said.
“Both Maddi and Teagan are important players in the women’s Sevens program and excellent ambassadors for the game in Australia and around the world.
“We are pleased the Levi sisters have extended their commitment to Australian Rugby and look forward to their ongoing contributions on and off the field.”
The Levi sisters and Australian Sevens teams will depart for Singapore on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the third round of the HSBC SVNS world series.
