ACT Brumbies centre Jarrah McLeod has been called into the Australia Sevens squad to make his debut in Perth this weekend.

McLeod will replace Dietrich Roache, who has been unable to overcome a hamstring injury sustained in Singapore.

Roache picked up the knock during the fifth-place final win over Spain in the act of scoring, with the back-to-back legs ultimately providing no time for recovery.

The move continues McLeod's meteoric rise, yet to make his Super Rugby Pacific debut.

McLeod, a proud Yuin man, became one of the stories of the British & Irish Lions tour in 2025 after impressing off the bench for First Nations Pasifika.

From this, the former Australia 20s centre signed a two year deal with the Brumbies, having previously juggled his career with a labouring job.

McLeod has featured for the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team previously in sevens during their trip to the Pacific in 2024.

“We welcome Jarrah into the squad and appreciate Stephen Larkham and the Brumbies for his release at a critical time in their pre-season," coach Liam Barry said.

“We have had Jarrah in our Coral Coast 7’s team before and have watched his progress carefully. It’s great to have him here in Perth with us.”

The Men's Sevens team had already made one change to the team from Singapore, with Hadley Tonga replacing Cooper Watters.

They will open their campaign against New Zealand on February 7 before taking on France and Great Britain.
