Matt Gonzalez started playing Rugby at age seven before a decade-long 15s career playing for Eastwood Rugby Club.
Unfortunately he was often hampered by injuries during his time but persevered.
Known for his speed, he made his Sevens debut in Singapore, 2022, and had an instant impact as the side made a meteoric push towards the World Series title.
He represented Australia in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham shortly after before a maiden Olympics debut in 2024.
Born in Baulkham Hills, Gonzalez is a fitness trainer away from the game.
